Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of our most frequently asked questions:

Some resorts are for couples only (such as Desire, Jardin de Eden and Jardin de Babylone). Others offer closedown lifestyle weeks which are also only for couples. Outside that time and in Hedonism for example, singles of both sex are accepted. Entrance to the clubs at Cap d'Agde is often for couples only.
All different sorts of people from all walks of life. Some of us enjoy a glass of good claret, some of us prefer a cheap plonk. Au naturel you are stripped (literally) of any denomination and it is often quite surprising to find out what your fellow lifestylers do for their day job!
‘No’ means ‘no’ and you will find this is a golden rule and very much part of lifestyle etiquette. Beginners should be reassured that they will not get pounced on or coerced to partake in anything they don’t want to.
Lifestylers can be aged from 18 years to late 50’s or even more! Each resort has its own character and, to a degree, age profile, but in fact this can change from week to week. On each resort page we have tried to give an indication of the atmosphere in the resort and what type of person might enjoy it. For instance Hedonism II and Hedonism III offer action packed, party style holidays whereas Desire Resort and Spa offers an altogether more relaxing ambience in idyllic surroundings.
Scientific research on swingers in the USA has consistently found that swingers have better pair-bonds than monogamous couples. The most recent and most thorough research found swingers are happier in their relationships than the norm. 60% of swingers said that swinging improved their relationship and only 1.7% said it made their relationship less happy. Half of those who rated their relationship very happy before becoming swingers maintained it had become even happier. 90% of those with less happy relationships said swinging improved them. Almost 70% of swingers claimed no problem with jealousy, around a quarter admitted to some jealousy but only 6% said it was very much a problem. Swingers rate themselves happier (59% against 32% very happy) and their lives much more excirting (76% against 54% exciting) than does the rest of the population, by surprisingly large margins. There was no difference between the responses of men and women.
