Location of Desire Resort Mexico

Set in private grounds between the turquoise of the sea and the thick green, low-level jungle, Desire Resort Mexico is designed to resemble a traffic-free village, amid swaying coconut palm trees and lush jungle plants. Set on the famous Riviera Maya, Desire Resort faces the warm Caribbean and is conveniently located just 20 minutes south of the downtown glitz and glamour that is Cancun, and the international airport. The charming town of Playa del Carmen is only a taxi ride away from Desire Resort.

The Beach

The glistening white sand fronts the whole of the Desire resort. It is protected by the Coral Park reef with its profusion of brightly coloured tropical fish.

Nudity at Desire Resort

The Desire Resort Mexico is clothing optional and most couples choose to stay nude except for in the Melange Lobby Bar, the restaurants and wherever else food is served. The house rules of Desire Resort are relaxed but discourage overt sexual activity in public areas. More private ‘lifestyle’ areas at Desire Resort are the spectacular rooftop Jacuzzi Lounge and the Playroom adjoining the disco bar.

Food & Drink

The Desire Resort offers a fabulous range of fine dining and culinary delights to tease your palette. The main restaurant, Volare (now air-conditioned), dominates the resort with its steeply pointed, thatched roof. Full breakfast and dinner are served here buffet-style and only casual dress is required. The air-conditioned Italian (Il Piacere), Asian (Suki) and international (Tentazione) restaurants, serve fine cuisine à la carte and the dress code is elegantly casual (long trousers for gentlemen). The Tentazione, by the main poolside, serves a variety of grilled specialities and snacks at lunchtime. Bring a towel to dress!

Facilities

The focal point of the Desire Resort is the large freshwater clothing optional pool. Most daytime activities, arranged by a team of entertainers, take place in and around this pool. Desire Resort’s notorious nude rooftop Jacuzzi Lounge affords stunning views of the jungle on one side and the ocean on the other. It boasts a dry and wet (swim-up) bar in the 30-seater jacuzzi (36°C/97°F), and double-size sun beds! For those who might need to keep in touch with the real world during their stay at Desire Resort, there is an Internet Room (payable). The extensive spa at Desire Resort features an amazing range of traditional treatments: sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym and, for an extra charge, massage, sea-weed packs, facial treatments and a beauty parlour. Less traditional multi-couple treatments, including sparkling wine, are also on the menu at Desire Resort Mexico.

Activities

From activities in and around the pool, tennis, water sports, snorkelling or optional tours (some are not included), to a day in the Spa, your choices abound at Desire Resort Mexico. Or, feel free to pass the days testing new tropical drink combinations, savouring the cuisine and basking under the Caribbean Sun.

Entertainment at Desire Resort

While much of what goes on at Desire Resort & Spa is of the “you have to see it to believe it variety”, what we can say is that from morning until night (and way beyond) there is always something to do. The disco lounge/bar is the meeting place after dinner with impromptu entertainment and themed evenings; from Desire Resort’s ‘Eyes Wide Shut Night’, to ‘Wild & Wicked Parties’.
